This week

I know it has been awhile since I have written but I have been busy. Let's see what has been missed.

This last weekend Charlie went to open the cabin and Josh and I were on our own. Grandma Wenninger came to visit so she kept him entertained. On Sunday, Josh and I went to the zoo. From the time we entered the zoo, he ran EVERYWHERE. He was so excited. It was like he had never been to the zoo before. He kept saying, "Mom look a that animal". Towards the end of our trip, a little girl got hurt and we saw her being pushed in a wheel chair with her mom holding her. She had a cut on her head. Josh was very upset and was ready to leave. We passed the ambulance and fire truck. I explained how the little girl would get taken care of by the doctor. He kept asking about her hours later. What a sensitive soul.

One night this week while Charlie and Josh were outside, Charlie had Josh put his toys away. He was pushing his jeep and stopped. Charlie, annoyed, told Josh to get moving. Josh's response was "Dad it is a red light". Duh, Charlie. :) Charlie waited a few seconds and then asked "Is it green yet". The answer was no. Then a few seconds later, he got his green light and could continue moving.

Twice this week he was woken up in the morning with socks on that he had not had on the night before. When I asked if he put his socks on, he says "My feet were cold". I think this says more about my parenting skills than anything.

Last night, Charlie was going to change the oil in my car. Josh asked what was wrong with my car and asked if it was broken. We said yes because it was easier. Later when Charlie was getting him ready for bed, Josh explained that my car was broken because I drive too fast and he told me to slow down.

Today at dinner, he finished eating he wanted to play outside and we said no it is raining. My little smart-alek then says but I can play in the garage, it is not raining in there. We were speechless.

He also wanted a snack. We told him later and he needed to wait, and he would say "Ok I waited. Can I have a snack?" Finally after bugging me for a hour, we gave him a snack. He ate two bananas, peaches, and a packet of 100 calorie cookies. I think he is going through a growth spurt.

The aww moment of the night comes when we were rocking tonight. He has to sit on the chair by himself and makes room for me. He holds all 5 blankets and lays his head on me. Tonight he says "I love you mom. You are my best friend." Awwww.

That is all for now.
